Maxillofacial Surgery

MAXILLOFACIAL SURGERY

Highly sophisticated unit that caters from simple tooth ache to tooth implants, from simple to most complex oral and dental surgeries. Dentistry in India has advanced by leaps and bounds over the last two decades. Now we are in an age of Preventive Dentistry where, by means of SIX MONTHLY CHECK-UPS we can prevent untimely loss of teeth due to its decay. The time when people only visited the dentist when they had a tooth ache is long gone.

What is Maxillo-facial surgery?

The speciality of Oral & Maxillo-facial surgery is the part of Dental practice that involves the diagnosis, surgical and adjunctive treatment of diseases, injuries and defects affecting the mouth, face and jaws. The scope of this branch includes wisdom teeth surgery, fractures of the jaw bone, cheek bone, orbit, nose and forehead, diseases of temperomandibular joint, infection of the mouth and face, cancer of the mouth and jaws, Orthognathic surgery and reconstructive surgery for face and jaws. It also includes the treatment of teeth related diseases of maxillary sinus like Oro antral fistula and diseases of salivary glands.

Services Provided by V.I.P Dental Care

1.Exodontia- extraction of teeth, root stumps.

As a first step, dentist will need to anesthetize ("numb up") both your tooth and the bone and gum tissue that surround it.
At this point in time, there is still no way for a dentist to predictably administer a local anesthetic except as an injection (a "shot").
The root portion of the tooth is firmly encased in bone (its socket), and tightly held in place by its ligament (the fibrous tissue between the tooth and bone that binds the two together). To remove the tooth, the dentist must both "expand its socket" (widen and enlarge it, see next section) and separate it from its ligament.

2.Disimpation- removal of submerged, retained teeth

An impacted tooth is a tooth that gets blocked as it is pushing through the gum into your mouth (erupting). Wisdom teeth often are impacted. Wisdom teeth usually begin to come in between the ages of 17 and 21. An impacted tooth can lead to an infection called pericoronitis. If untreated, this infection can spread to the throat or into the neck. Severe infections require a hospital stay and surgery. Impacted teeth also can get cavities. An impacted tooth can push on the neighboring molar. This can lead to tooth movement, decay or gum disease. It also can change the way your teeth come together. Rarely, impacted teeth can cause cysts or other growths in the jaw.

3.Cyst Removal

A cyst is a sac of tissue that has either fluid or soft material inside it. Cysts can form in a wide range of tissues including in the face and mouth. Some form next to or around teeth.
